One long day gets you to Kodagu's highest point and back down before dark - a real summit day without a multi-day commitment. The terrain stays uneven for a good stretch of the climb, so it rewards a reasonable baseline of fitness rather than enthusiasm alone.

The Trail
The trail climbs gradually out of coffee estates near Kakkabe, then settles into cooler shola forest before opening onto grassland close to the summit - roughly 14 km up and back. This route runs through Karnataka Forest Department land, so every trekker needs a valid forest permit (booked in advance through the department's Aranya Vihaara portal) and a certified guide, both arranged as part of booking with us.

Permits
This trail is on Karnataka Forest Department land - an advance forest permit through the department's Aranya Vihaara portal is mandatory for every trekker, along with a certified guide. We handle the permit booking as part of your trek; always confirm current trail status before booking, since access can be paused at short notice for safety or forest-department reasons.
Cancellation Policy
A ₹1,000 Booking Advance secures your booking request. Final confirmation is issued only after operational and permit verification. The advance is non-refundable and non-transferable, as it blocks your spot in the group.
If we cancel a trek due to weather, safety, or forest department restrictions, you get a full refund or a free reschedule.
Notes
The trail was briefly closed by the Kodagu forest division in April 2026 after a solo trekker went missing, and reopened with strengthened safety protocols. Guide and permit requirements follow the current Forest Department SOP.

We route through community-managed estate land and pay access fees directly to local landowners.
