Why This Trek
Harishchandragad
Harishchandragad rewards patience - the climb up from Khireshwar is a full day's work, but it hands you a night on a plateau that most day-trekkers never get to sit with. Kokan Kada at dawn or dusk, with cloud spilling over the cliff edge, is the kind of view that's worth the extra day.
Before You Book
- Forest access may require a valid permit.
- Authorised guide support may be mandatory.
- Departure depends on current route availability.
- Weather and wildlife conditions may affect access.
- Route and timings can change for safety reasons.
- Camping is only offered where currently permitted.
- Government ID may be required for permit registration.
- Final confirmation is issued only after operational verification.
The Trail
The Khireshwar route climbs steadily through forest and open ridge before reaching the plateau, past caves used for shelter for centuries. The easier Pachnai route and the far harder Nalichi Vaat route (a near-vertical rock gully) both reach the same plateau; Nalichi Vaat is frequently unsafe or closed during and just after monsoon. The fort sits inside the Kalsubai-Harishchandragad Wildlife Sanctuary, so route access is subject to current forest department rules.
- Kokan Kada, a massive concave cliff with an 1,800ft drop into the Konkan
- Ancient rock-cut caves and the Harishchandreshwar temple on the plateau
- A night camped or cave-sheltered on the summit plateau

Permits
Harishchandragad lies within the Kalsubai-Harishchandragad Wildlife Sanctuary. No formal trekking permit is currently required on the standard routes, but access to the Nalichi Vaat route is often restricted or unsafe during and after monsoon - always confirm current access rules before booking.
Cancellation Policy
A ₹1,000 Booking Advance secures your booking request. Final confirmation is issued only after operational and permit verification. The advance is non-refundable and non-transferable, as it blocks your spot in the group.
If we cancel a trek due to weather, safety, or forest department restrictions, you get a full refund or a free reschedule.
Notes
Camping is on the open plateau or in the caves - carry warm layers, as nights on the plateau get cold even outside winter. Sanctuary access rules are subject to change.
Sustainability
The plateau's cave shelters and water sources are limited - we keep group sizes capped and carry out all camp waste rather than leaving it on site.
