Why This Trek
Bhrigu Lake
Bhrigu Lake compresses a lot of high-altitude Himalaya into a short window - you're above the treeline within a day of leaving Gulaba, and the lake itself sits in a bowl of meadow with almost nothing to block the view in any direction. It's a real high-altitude trek, not a scaled-down one, just a shorter road-in than most.
Before You Book
- Forest access may require a valid permit.
- Authorised guide support may be mandatory.
- Departure depends on current route availability.
- Weather and wildlife conditions may affect access.
- Route and timings can change for safety reasons.
- Camping is only offered where currently permitted.
- Government ID may be required for permit registration.
- Final confirmation is issued only after operational verification.
The Trail
The trail climbs out of Gulaba through the last of the forest into open meadow almost immediately, gaining most of its altitude in the first day and a half. There's little tree cover for shade or shelter beyond the lower slopes, so weather and rapid altitude gain are the real challenges here rather than distance or technical terrain.
- A high-altitude lake that holds its colour, and in parts its ice, through much of the season
- Open alpine meadows with wide views of the Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar ranges
- A shorter approach than most Himachal high-altitude treks, starting from a road-accessible base

Cancellation Policy
A ₹1,000 Booking Advance secures your booking request. Final confirmation is issued only after operational and permit verification. The advance is non-refundable and non-transferable, as it blocks your spot in the group.
If we cancel a trek due to weather, safety, or forest department restrictions, you get a full refund or a free reschedule.
Notes
No mandatory special trekking permit found for Indian nationals as of research date, though forest entry fees may apply at Gulaba. We'll confirm current rules before running this.
Sustainability
The alpine meadows around Bhrigu Lake are slow to recover from overuse - we cap group size on this trek specifically to keep our footprint at Rola Kholi and around the lake small.
